Our solar installation is now generating clean energy
Here at Universal Live we take our corporate and social responsibility very seriously, and sustainability is something we are passionate about as a business.
We don’t have oodles of fancy logos to splash all over the place saying we’re signed up to this carbon reduction scheme or that, instead we strive every day to make meaningful changes to our operations that make a real and tangible difference to our environmental impact.
By far our biggest investment so far is to cover our head office roof with an array of no fewer than 280 solar panels.
The panels charge a bank of Tesla batteries to power our operations, and any surplus is exported to the grid, contributing to clean, renewable energy available to the local community.
The system became operational on 31st May 2023, and at the time of writing has already generated almost 10MWh of power and saved almost 2000kg of CO2 emissions – that’s the equivalent to planting almost 115 trees!
The above stats are based on just 16 days of operation… even with seasonal differences, with an estimated lifespan of 25 years the installation represents a huge reduction in our carbon footprint for years to come. We couldn’t be happier!
