Sustainable Event Policy
As a leading technical production company, Universal Live Ltd (UL) is committed to delivering sustainable events that minimise environmental impact while maximising positive social and economic contributions. This policy aligns with ISO 20121 and integrates sustainability principles across all aspects of event planning, production, and delivery.
Principles of Our Sustainable Event Policy:
1. Integrated Sustainability Management
We will embed sustainable event management principles within our existing Business Management System (BMS), ensuring that sustainability risks and opportunities within our events are identified, evaluated, and managed effectively. Objectives and targets will be regularly reviewed to drive continual improvement.
2. Stakeholder Engagement and Social Responsibility
We will collaborate with clients, suppliers, venues, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable event practices. We commit to fair labour practices, diversity, inclusivity, and positive community engagement within all our event activities.
3. Ethical and Sustainable Procurement
We will source materials, products, and services that adhere to ethical and sustainable principles. Our procurement strategy prioritises local suppliers, fair trade products, and materials with low environmental impact.
4. Energy Efficiency and Carbon Reduction
We will implement energy-efficient practices in event design and production, promoting renewable energy sources and optimising energy consumption. We will work towards reducing our carbon footprint by adopting low-emission transport and logistics solutions.
5. Resource Efficiency and Waste Management
We will apply circular economy principles by prioritising waste prevention, reuse, and recycling. We will work to eliminate single-use plastics, use sustainable materials, and ensure responsible disposal of waste generated at events.
6. Sustainable Venue Selection and Logistics
We will prioritise venues that demonstrate sustainable practices, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and responsible waste management. Transportation logistics will be optimised to minimise emissions and reduce environmental impact.
7. Legacy and Positive Impact
We will measure and assess the long-term impacts of our events, ensuring that they leave a positive legacy. This includes supporting local communities, promoting knowledge-sharing on sustainability, and fostering long-term sustainable behaviours.
8. Measurement, Monitoring, and Reporting
We will set measurable sustainability objectives for our events, tracking and reporting performance against them. Transparent reporting will allow us to continuously improve and share best practices across the industry.
By adhering to this policy, Universal Live Ltd commits to leading sustainable event practices that contribute to environmental protection, social well-being, and economic resilience.
