Sustainable Audio-Visual supplier for live events

A Greener Way Forward, Together

When you’re choosing an AV partner, there’s a lot to consider. Things such as quality of kit, reliability, creativity and experience. But here’s a question we’re hearing more often in the industry: “Are your suppliers actively contributing to your sustainability goals?”

For many clients, the answer increasingly needs to be “yes”. Sustainability is no longer a side consideration, it’s a core part of how brands, agencies and organisations are being measured. Whether it’s part of your pitch requirements, brand values or internal strategy, you need partners who can match that ambition.

That’s why we’ve been evolving how we work, not just for the industry but because it matters deeply to us.

Built Into Our Business

Sustainability is part of how we operate. We believe in making conscious decisions that reduce impact and improve outcomes, both for our clients and for the planet.

To drive this forwards, we have a dedicated full-time employee, Neil, who focuses on sustainability and innovation within Universal Live. His focus is on embedding real, measurable change – which has led us to recently achieving ISO 20121 certification.

This internationally recognised standard underpins the way we plan, deliver and improve, ensuring our commitment to sustainability is backed by robust systems and independent verification.

Under Neil’s guidance and with full leadership support, we’ve made steady, practical improvements: solar panels and battery storage, EV charging, composting, waste separation, carpet recycling, smarter print solutions and incentives for our team to use low-impact transport.
It’s all part of building a business that’s aligned with what we value and what many of our clients do too.

Experience You Can Rely On

We know that sustainability efforts don’t stop at intention, they need to be backed by data, process and reporting.

That’s why we’re comfortable working with clients who use reporting tools or need support with sustainability reporting. We’ve worked with agencies and companies who are tracking everything from travel emissions to material usage and we know how to feed into those systems in a way that’s clear, accurate and helpful.

To further support transparency, we’ve also joined the from now network. To be featured, we undertook an independent audit by from now, giving organisers confidence that when they select us, they’re choosing a partner independently verified as a genuine sustainable option.

Progress, Not Perfection

There are still challenges, of course. Some materials don’t have simple swaps i.e. gaffa tape and others need careful testing before rolling out widely. But we’re proactive about researching, auditing and evolving what we do. We’re always asking: “What’s next?”

That includes upgrading our building infrastructure, moving towards an all-EV van fleet, exploring water harvesting and working towards ISO 45001 to further align our wellbeing and safety practices with our sustainability goals.

Rethinking What Sustainable Looks Like

Everyone in the industry is working towards more sustainable delivery but that doesn’t always mean scaling back. Sometimes, it’s about being smarter – choosing the right kit, designing with intention and reducing waste without reducing impact.

That’s where we come in.

We work closely with clients to understand the outcome they’re aiming for and what their objectives are and then help shape the right technical solution to get them there, sustainably. It could be guiding on materials, energy usage or smarter rigging and scheduling, we tailor our approach to align with your brief and your values.

Because ultimately, we’re here to make it easier for you to deliver events that don’t just look good but they do good too.
